Walter S. Winkler

We are so very saddened to hear of your loss. What a very warm and wonderful man he was. He was very proud of his family as well he should be. We have so many fond memories of him that we will hold dear in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with Grandma Winkler and the whole family at this very difficult time.

The members of The American Legion Post 1941 in La Grange wish to offer our condolences to Walter's family. We are losing our WWII veterans at a decreasing rate because there are fewer and fewer of them left with every passing day. So sad. The "Greatest Generation" for certain. Walter's name, dates and branch of service will be engraved on a plaque added to the wall of heroes in the lobby of our Post Home. Thanks for your service Walter, you will be missed by your veteran brothers and sisters.

We are so very sorry. We have so many happy memories of time spent together and our Dads sharing stories. He will be missed but leaves a wonderful legacy in the family that he was extremely proud of. Take care of each other, now and always.

We are sadden to hear the passing of Mr. Winkler on Sunday, March 26, 2017. Mr. Winkler and Mrs. Winkler were good friends of my late parents Eugene and Marie Chadwick. It is hard to say good-bye to such a fine person and a great neighbor. Our prayers are with the family during this sorrowful time.
