Pat, sorry we will be unable to attend the funeral. We are in Florida till the end of the month. We have many fond memories of Norb and you involving Marriage Encounter. We will continue to keep you in our prayers.

Saw Sue Pierce post on facebook and obit Norb and I used to pal around in the late 50's, saw both of you at his mother's funeral. Our condolences to you Pat.

I have many memories of Uncle Norby, with one of them being when he would come over to visit and have a beer he would let me sneak drinks from his glass. He will be missed. Rest in Peace Uncle Norby.

My fondest memories are many but the best ones are watching the late movie Saturday night, then driving to Antioch,getting breakfast on the way, then renting a boat,fishing until it was time to go to church. Putting the fish on ice for Busia and heading home. Rest In Peace Norb

My Uncle Norby will be truly missed by me. He was by far the best story teller that I ever knew. He was never afraid to say what he meant. He sometimes came across as stubborn as a Polish mule, but had a heart of gold! The first thing my Uncle Norby would always do when visiting my place was to go into my kitchen to inspect my cutlery set, to ensure they were properly sharpened. Often times, they were sub-par, and he would give me the lecture about the correlation between a good cook and the quality of his knives. Uncle Norby, I truly think of you whenever I sharpen my knives (now in an obsessive fashion thanks to you). You were an amazing person, you were an amazing asset to your community, you were a loving husband to my Auntie Pat, you were the sharpest knife in the set of life.

Norb was a dear man. He was a mentor to all of us. I am honored and blessed to have known Norb and served in KOC 6483 along his side. He was truly a blessing to all that knew him and we will miss him. A good heart has stopped beating, but a good soul has ascended to heaven. Our condolences. The Better Family

Having known Norb for about 40 years, there are many "Norb" stories and memories.He was a very generous friend, with his time and whatever; also a good cook! Probably my Favorite "Norb" story had to do with the theater. Donny Osmond was appearing in"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at the Chicago Theater. Pat and I had talked about getting tickets and Norb's response was "who wants to see Donny Osmond prancing around the stage!" A couple more months passed and I decided to get tickets--Norb reluctantly agreed. Our seats were on the side aisle and Norb ended up with the aisle seat. At the finale, the cast exists singing and dancing down the aisles to the back of the theater. There was Norb "hi-fiving" every actor as they passed him. He then acclaimed this "to be the best musical" he'd ever seen! (And he went back to see it a second time)! We'll miss you old friend!
