Was so sorry to hear “Bear” Coach Jerkatis passing. Was a friend, teacher and mentor to myself and the 1975 to 1977 Morton Swim team. So loved by many. Never would turn away someone needing a hand. Will never forget the 6:30 AM and 3:30 practices followed by a ride home in what we called the bomb. Thank you to the family of the Jerkatis’ for allowing “Bear” to be part of my life and so many others. He will be missed May you Rest In Peace Kevin Sinram

I am so sorry for your loss. Bear was my swim coach at ME 1981-1984 and was the best! May he Rest In Peace.

I had the very good fortune to be on Coach Jerkaitis' swim teams 65/66 and 66/67, I transferred in to JSM as a Junior. He was a great coach and mentor. In fact, I went to college at Western Michigan University. Coach Jerkaitis recommended that university to me. My deepest and sincere condolences to the family...
