Obituary
Laddie A. Sanda, Jr., age 83, of Western Springs. Beloved husband of Patricia Sanda, nee Strunc, fond father of Scott (Leah) Sanda and Chris (Mila Kruk) Sanda; dear grandfather of Nathan Sanda and Connor (Ashley Pernsteiner) Sanda; uncle to Samantha Sanda.
Visitation Friday, September 8, 2023 from 1:00 P.M. to time of Service 5:00 P.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 9445 West 31 st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513.
Lad was a Giant of a man, well liked and respected by everyone who knew him. He built Tro singlehandedly to the point where his son’s joined and helped take it to new heights. He was
kind and caring, unselfishly sharing his time, skills, and belongings with others, and working long hours. Yet he always made time for his family and children, from Indian guides to
attending football games, wrestling matches and other activities.
He was a man of many passions: Golf, Fishing, Travel, Cars and Aviation, especially WW2 warbirds. An avid model maker, his workroom still has several projects in various stages.
He loved going to Las Vegas, with Pat, or just with Chris and I for a boys weekend. His biggest passion was Sportcar racing: Not just watching, but wheel to wheel racing with
various organizations: Salt Creek Sports car club in the early 60’s, then after a 25 year hiatus, Midwest Council of Sports car Clubs, Chicago Region SCCA, Porsche Club, and HSR. During this
period he raced a Formula V and several Porsches – His beloved RS America, A Porsche Supercup car, and finally when the high HP cars became a little too much, a Porsche 914-4 that
is still in the family.
Nothing can fill the void he leaves behind, the world is a poorer place.
