Wendall Monyak

Flag SMWendell Monyak, 90, of Scottsdale, AZ passed away peacefully on July 15, 2022 with his wife by his side. Wendell was born on September 14, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Mary and Wendell Monyak.

He graduated from St. Rita High School in 1950. After high school he attended Benedictine University in Lisle, IL. He entered the United States Army in 1955 and honorably served until 1957. He continued his education at Roosevelt University where he received his chemistry degree after which he attended St. Louis College of Pharmacy where he received his Pharmacy degree.

Wendell met and fell in love with Lorraine Mostek in 1962 and the two were married on August 29, 1964.Wendel was dedicated and loved his time serving the community during his Pharmacy career. He was instrumental in the facilitation and opening of a new retirement and skilled nursing facility, Tabor Hills, in Naperville, IL where he served as the Director.

Wendel and Lorraine later moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1996 where they enjoyed the warmth and all the fun activities Scottsdale had to offer. Wendell is survived by his loving wife of almost 58 years, Lorraine, Aunt Evelyn Borowicz, cousins; Harmony Treno, Michael Borowicz, Mary Lagor and their spouses and children. He is also survived by cousins: Emily Jovancic, John Miesiarczyk, Joseph Miesiarczyk, Maria Kolton and Maryann Greener and their spouses and children.

Wendell will be remembered for his love of building model airplanes and his patient and loving mentoring to his friends and colleagues. Lorraine will forever be grateful that God brought them together because they had a sensational marriage and build a wonderful life.

Visitation Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 9:00 A.M.to 9:30 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield. Funeral 9:30 A.M. to St. Louise de Marillac Church, 30th & Raymond, LaGrange Park. Mass 10:00 A.M.

Interment Our Lady of Sorrows Hillside.

    Lorraine and Family,

    My deepest sympathy on the loss of Wendell. I worked with him over 30 years ago at Saint Ann’s hospital in Chicago.. In fact he sold me the bears season tickets that I gave my husband as a wedding present. I certainly remember him as as being a very kind gentleman . May the fond memories that you hold in your heart your heart get you through this difficult time.
