We were privileged to know Mrs. Morrissey for many years and will always remember her warmth, smile and laughter. She had the rare and amazing gift of always making you feel you were a very special person to her. We hope the strength of her spirit and love will provide some measure of comfort to all the Morrissey family. She so loved her family.

As a kid, going to my Uncle Joe and Aunt Rose's house was always a treat. I knew that the table would be filled with delicious food, all cooked by Aunt Rose. I remember her as not only a great cook, but a warm, loving human being. She offered unconditional love to her family and friends. I will miss her but will also be comforted in the fact that our love for her will find her in her new journey and her love for us will serve us on our continuing journey on earth.

Rose Morrissey was one of a kind. She lived life fully and loved well. If you were a friend, it was for life. I was always impressed that she sent hand-written notes to people she may not have seen for years just to stay in touch or remember a special day. Rose's door was always open and she could quickly put together some snicky-snacks to share. Rose was a wonderful mother-in-law to me and a great Grandma to my girls. She will always have a special place in my heart.

Mom always seemed to pull it out in the 11th hour each time death's door started to open. She was a woman with a strong mind, if not an equally strong body. Her first back surgery was at the age of 25 (one year after my birth) and my earliest memories were of her in various back braces and constant pain. Rose was always challenged by medications, as she was allergic to various drugs and most narcotics, so she literally "lived in pain" all of her adult life. I know now she prepared me for "sucking it up" in the Army and that served me well during my own surgeries. At 0100 Friday morning, 27MAR2015, the hospital called and said they were losing Rose. Some of us were able to spend the last few hours with my mom as she "peacefully" passed-on. I'm glad it was peaceful and painless for her and that I could be there to console my father. I always feared I would be deployed with the Army or away on civilian business when something tragic would take my mom and/or dad. So today I feel "lucky" to have been there for both of them. My father will now be my mom's "caretaker" rather than her "caregiver". She will be cremated and then my father will watch over her ashes until it's "his time" and then they will be buried together at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery (a veteran resting place) south of Chicago. Rest in painless peace, mom!

There are so many fond memories of our time together. My kids just adored Rose and thought the world of her as did Nancy and I. I'll miss my phone calls with her. The love that surrounds you will sustain you during this time. God Bless! Dale

I remember this Lady from the days she was in PTA with my wife, Betty, at Eli Whitney School in Chicago. Anytime I was away from home, out of the country, ... my thoughts always roamed to the parties in Rose and Joe's basement ... It gave me a quantum of solace many, many times. Rose, ... YOU will be greatly missed ... We Love YOU ROSE ...

Joseph and I are deeply saddened by the passing of dear sister Rose. She and brother Joe were like twins and he (and I) loved her dearly. It was a blessing having had a sister even if only 2 1/2 years and I will always remember how kind, loving and accepting she was to me. Rose certainly loved her brother, Joe, and was so protective of him--happy that he was happy. Our deepest sympathies to you and your children. May God give you all comfort and peace during this difficult time. "No one is ever forgotten that is lovingly remembered" and Rose was loved by all who knew her. Brother Joseph and Sister Barbara
