I hoped to offer my sympathy in person to Bob's family. We have been friends for many years. Due to a transportation problem, I am unable to do so. May the happy memories we shared be remembered as good friends are never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with Bob and his family at this time.

So sorry to hear about Bob. My sincerest condolences to the family. Bob and I worked together from the 1970's up to the time he retired for good. Even though I was Bob's supervisor for much of that time, I always said Bob worked with me not for me because Bob knew much more about what needed to be done and how to do it than I did. In terms of expertise in the laboratory Bob was as good as it gets. I wish we had more Bobs around today. Besides work, I probably played 10,000 pinochle hands against him at lunch time. I can still hear him telling Erv Van Deventer (his partner) "stop thinking, you know you're not good at it". Unfortunately, I will be out of town this coming Friday and unable to attend the gathering for Bob; but I will be there in spirit for him. Bob was a great guy to be around! Vic Maroni
