Patti, Mr. Maxwell and your dad came to our house (they walked here) when dad was home sick. The three of them had a nice visit. I miss your mom; she was a terrific bluebird/ campfire leader! May they rest in God’s hands knowing full well the scope of His love! Andrea

Patti, Karen & families, Just wanted to reach out from Cleveland and tell you I'm thinking of you all at this tough time. My Dad & his wife (Ryan & Marlene Jorstad) let us know of Jimmy's passing. We were lucky enough to see him in recent years & loved seeing the kids be awed by his stories. I'm sad to know it's the last of Grandma's siblings. They were a pack of characters, those Doigs! Love to you all, Cindy

Although we talked last night, we thought of a remembrance that happened recently that showed the kind of man your dad was. When Ryan stopped to visit with him back in March or April, he told your Dad about our planned trip to Scotland. Thinking he might be interested in where we were going on our trip, we sent him our itinerary so he might think of some of the places he was familiar with. One night, before we left in May, he called us! As you know, he had a hard time talking, but he wanted to tell us that, if we had time, we should see Stirling Castle as he was sure we would enjoy it. When we hung up, it dawned on us how difficult it was for him to do that, but was typical of what he thought was important to do. He had a good long life. What's most important about that is it gave him a long time to have such a positive influence on us all. Best wishes to all of you. Ryan and Marlene

Dear Patti and Karen: I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I have very fond memories of coming to Chicago with mom & dad when I was growing up and visiting Aunt Elaine, Uncle Jim and both of you. We had some great times. Uncle Jim is the reason I "fell in love" with Scotland. May God bless you and your families with His peace. My love to you - Janet(&Bob)

Deb and I are so sorry for your loss. You are in our prayers. I remember when your mom and dad went to Rocky Point Mexico with my mom and dad, Gerald and Mary Bacon. We were there with our family also. We had such a great time. Our kids just loved Jimmy and Elaine as did Deb and I. He will be missed.

Dear Patricia, Karen and family, so sorry for your loss. I so loved talking with your dad on the phone. In the beginning we talked about genealogy records your Mom had, then we just would call to chat about anything and everything. He was always so happy! I will miss our little chats. You are so fortunate to have had two wonderful parents. Thinking of all of you in the days ahead. Dick & Jean
