Condolences

Art was a daily customer at Starbucks in Broadview. He liked his tall ice coffee and I like it white:) I’ve worked there for 5 years and when Art didn’t come in I asked everyday on my day off if anyone saw Art? The other day it dawned on me Art gave me a church bulletin because it was St. Rita’s day and he saved it for me:)! I called the church to inquire about Art and the wonderful lady informed me of the sad news:(. Susan and family I’m sorry about your lose Art was such a wonderful person to me and I know you’ll always have great stories and memories of a great husband, father and grandfather Art was! He is missed by me, I’m glad I was able to know him.

Thinking of Uncle Art makes us smile. He was always smiling and happy and I remember fondly his poker playing "bluffs" where he would seemingly forget how to play and count his cards properly, only to have the best hand at the table. We will also remember his positivity, jokester attitude, and the fact he HATED ginger ale even though everyone always went out of their way to buy it for him at family parties thinking he loved it - Art was so kind he didn't have the heart to tell anyone in the family he actually hated ginger ale. It took about 20 years for him to actually fess-up... LOL! What a legend. :) We will think of him fondly and miss him dearly.

Art is the first neighbor we met and he's always been so warm and friendly to us. We have greatly enjoyed your holiday decorations all year-round. You will be missed and fondly remembered. Deepest condolences to Sue.

Sad to hear of Art's passing! When I was in high school, I worked part time at his lumber yard in south Chicago. He was a good boss and great cousin.
