Obituary
Mark Edward Egger, age 68, of North Riverside. Beloved husband of JoAnn Egger, nee Sroda; son of the late Warren Egger and Lois Egger, nee McNamara; loving father of Carolyn Egger and Kelsey Egger; brother of Debra (Bill Zaksas) Egger, Marilyn (Ron) Scarbeary, the late Barbara Egger and Cynthia Egger; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation, Friday, February 24, 2023 9:00 A.M. to time of service at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Funeral Service 12:00 P.M.
Mark grew up in Brookfield, played baseball, was a boy scout, and attended Riverside Brookfield High School. Joined the German Club and reunited with members at their 50th High school reunion. Enjoying youth and being adventurous he rode motorcycles, went skydiving, and white-water rafting. After graduating from IIT, started a 39 year long career as a Mechanical Engineer. Married Jo Ann and proudly raised two beloved daughters in North Riverside. Community involvement in North Riverside included serving on the Komarek School Board, Plan Commission, Water Commission, and Public Library Board. As much as he was involved in the community, he loved to provide for his family. He was the family’s renowned home chef, and lived by the motto of “learn to love everything”.
