Marjorie “Marge” M. Fischer, nee Jaros, age 90, Brookfield resident for 55 years. Beloved wife of 60 years to Elmer “Al” A. Fischer: loving mother of Sandra (Nicholas) Sempowicz: dear grandma of Nicholas A. Sempowicz and Mitchell L. Sempowicz: sister of Lester (Grace) Jaros and the late Elmer (Lee) Jaros: aunt of two nephews. Visitation Sunday, March 8, 2009, 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Monday, March 9, 2009, 10:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield. Funeral Monday 11 A.M., Interment Bohemian National Cemetery. Margie worked as a career gal for Marshall Field’s on State Street, meeting her future husband, Elmer, “under the clock” for their dates. She left Field’s to work as a supervisor at Western Electric to do her part to support the war effort. She “retired” to become a mother and homemaker. She led Brownie/Girl Scout Troop 302 and Cadette Troop 10, at Gross School, Brookfield. She was a highly skilled seamstress and dress designer. Marge was as comfortable in a ball gown as she was driving a truck full of gear to Camp Merrybrook for her scouts. Later jobs included: Teters Floral Products and summers at Brookfield Zoo, where she was hired as the first “senior” to drive and narrate on the Safari Trains. Marge’s dad started her driving at age 13, and she drove until the age of 90. She was a devoted, fun-loving grandmother to Nicholas and Mitchell. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or St. Thomas Hospice appreciated. Information 708-485-2000 or www.HitzemanFuneral.com
