Obituary

A Cherished Matriarch

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Marilyn, a remarkable woman whose 94 years on earth were marked by unwavering love, sharp wit, and boundless wisdom. Marilyn left us on April 7th, 2024, a peaceful Sunday morning, surrounded by the love of the family she adored.

Marilyn, of La Grange Park, was the beloved wife of the late Clarence “Bob” L. Fischer; mother of Robert “Bob” (Donna) Fischer, Diane Fischer, Janet Viscariello, Bonnie (Don) Craggs and Barbara (Alan) Schmidt; dear grandmother of Beth (David) Principe, Tina (Brian) Donda, Robert “Bobby” Fischer (fiancée Katherine), Jenna (Alex) Gerlach, Kelsey Viscariello, Kristie Viscariello, Michael Viscariello, Nicole Craggs (fiancé Drew), Josh Craggs, Danny Schmidt, Tommy Schmidt and Nicholas Schmidt; great-grandmother of nine;
sister of the late Dr. George (the late Renee) Borge; aunt of Dr. Marc (Mary) Borge, Noelle Borge and Goddaughter Heather (Larry) Birks.

Marilyn's life was a tapestry of rich experiences and joyous moments. Born into a world vastly different from the one she left, she navigated the changing tides with grace and humor. Her laughter was infectious, her advice priceless and her ability to see the silver lining, even in the darkest of clouds, was a gift to all who knew her.

A lifelong learner and an avid reader, Marilyn's curiosity knew no bounds. She instilled in her children the value of education, the importance of kindness, and the power of a well-timed joke. Her legacy is not only in the successful paths her children have taken but also in the countless lives she touched with her generosity and spirit.

As we bid farewell to Marilyn, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey well-traveled, and a woman well-loved. She may have left this world, but her light remains, guiding us through memories that will forever warm our hearts.

Rest in peace, dear Marilyn. Your memory will be a beacon of joy and resilience for all of us.
