June Dohnal

June Ellen Dohnal, nee Hagenberg, age 79, a 42 year resident of Brookfield; passed from complications due to Covid. Beloved wife of John Dohnal, Jr.; fond mother of Amanda Dohnal; sister of Dr. Roger Frank (Jeanne) Hagenberg; aunt of 7 nieces and nephews; daughter of the late Frank Hagenberg and Evelyn Hagenberg.

June was a personal assistant to the Vice President Marketing for Standard Oil and then became an assistant manager in the family aircraft dealership.  In July 1982 she became a mother to her cherished daughter Amanda and a fulltime home maker. John would like everyone to know June was a good Mom. June unconditionally loved her rescue cats. Over the years she was active in her class’s reunion committee for Riverside Brookfield Highschool. June was a lifelong member of North Riverside Community Presbyterian Church, becoming a Sunday School Teacher and eventually and Ordained Deacon.

Visitation Thursday, February 10, from 2 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Friday, February 11, 2022 form 1 P.M. to time of Service 1:30 P.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd. 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513.

Per state mandate all guests attending any indoor services are required to wear a mask.

Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.
