Evelyn Romolt (nee Goldberg)

Evelyn Romolt

Evelyn Romolt (nee Goldberg), passed suddenly on February 26 at the age of 92. Evelyn was the beloved wife of the late Oscar, having been married for 64 years. She was the daughter of the late Esther and Harry; sister to the late Clarence, Allen “Sonny”, and Henrietta. Evelyn was the dear sister-in-law of the late Ben, Abe, Clara, and Veta. Her greatest joy was being a mother to Ray (Shelly), Curtis (Christine), and the late Bennett. Evelyn’s grandchildren Courtney, Lauren (Jake), Caitlin, and Maddie, were a constant source of pride. She was thrilled when her great granddaughter, Mckenzie arrived.

Evelyn loved her family, her cats, the Coffee Girls, her neighbors, and her years working at Babson Bros. She was interested in everyone’s story and was a true people person. Evelyn was an avid reader and was very interested in current events. She was a lifelong Democrat and proud of her Jewish heritage. Over the years Evelyn was a Cub Scout den mother and volunteered at many of her children’s school events. She also volunteered at MacNeal Hospital and the Brookfield Library. We would like to acknowledge Mike K. and the late John C; with their support, Evelyn was able to remain in her beloved Hollywood home.

Evelyn will be missed by so many. “May her memory be a blessing.” To honor her life, share a cup of coffee and some conversation with a friend.

Visitation and Services will be held Privately.

Private Interment Menorah Gardens Cemetery, Broadview.

  3. Eileen Quinn condolence:

Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your mother and grandmother. She sounds like a wonderful person, who enjoyed people and loved her family fiercely.

I was Courtney’s middle school language arts teacher. I remember that Courtney was an excellent student and a talented writer. She wrote several humorous and heart-warming accounts of life with her family, especially her cousins. My favorite was about the year the oven broke on Thanksgiving. I have a feeling Courtney’s ability was influenced by her grandmother. I am sure she will missed.

    Most sincerely,
    Eileen Quinn

  4. Sandy Ronecker condolence:

Dear Evelyn, Neither our beloved Hollywood nor the Hollywood Coffee Clutchers will never be the same without you being here. I’m so glad we were able to pick up a friendship you and my late mother started many years ago volunteering with the Hollywood Friendship Club. Your friendship and positive attitude will be missed by many.
