Anne Silvia Broggi, nee Prazak, age 97, long time Brookfield resident, was born December 31st 1916 and passed away on December 31, 2013. Anne was an avid golfer and a former member of the Riverside Golf Club. During her golfing years she shot 3 holes in one. She was also a member of St. Barbara’s Parish and Seniors Club. In 1946 she and her husband John opened Broggi’s Garden Spot which they ran for 31 years until their retirement in 1977. She and John traveled frequently to Florida, where they enjoyed playing golf and simply relaxing.
Known as Annie to her family, she was a wonderful, generous, kindhearted woman with a wicked sense of humor. She enjoyed sewing (making many of her own clothes), golfing, gardening, walking around town and spending as much time as she could with her family. She was also a huge supporter of the Brookfield Little League Baseball, in which she hardly ever missed a game.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory a daughter, Joanne ( John) Glover and son Michael (Patricia) Broggi; grandchildren, Michael (Michelle) Glover, Jose (Brian) Robinson, Jennifer (Cory) Ferrell and Robert (Amanda) Broggi; great grandmother of Kristen, Cole, Stephanie, Ian, Stacy, Nina, Jeremy, and Emma, one step-great grandson, Donald Creech; her special nephews, Ed and Jeff Kust; aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, her sister Julia (Edward) Kust and her younger brother John Prazak. The family wishes to thank the staff at Alden Estates in Naperville for the excellent care they gave Anne.
