Welcome to Hitzeman Funeral Home, we are privileged to serve your family and loved ones.

After 45 years of working at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Todd and Sue have decided to retire.  By the Summer of 2017, Todd and Sue started the process of selling the business to Charles “Chuck” and Danielle.  The timing was right to take over the 114-year-old business as the 5th Generation Funeral Director for Hitzeman Funeral Home.

Todd and Sue know and appreciate the importance of keeping the tradition of having Hitzeman Funeral Home within the family; and Chuck is the right man for the job.

You will still see Todd and Sue around town at community and church events, but will only be helping at the funeral home when needed. They plan to take advantage of their time off to spend time with their grandkids. Chuck and Danielle’s children are Rachel (11) and Joe (8). Kristine and Matt’s children are Nathan and Michael (10) and Colin (7). Laura and Nick’s children are Nick (9), Natalie (7), and Tyler (4). Eight grandchildren under 12 will certainly keep them busy. They also plan to use their new-found freedom to travel a bit. They certainly deserve some time to rest and relax!

In September, Chuck officially took over as Owner and President of Hitzeman Funeral Home. Chuck has been a licensed funeral director for 14 years and holds licenses in multiple states. He will bring more to the family business with the experience he has gained along the way. He stays current on trends and traditions within the funeral industry and knows he is prepared and well-equipped to help any family that needs our services.

Chuck is excited for his new positions as Owner and President at Hitzeman Funeral Home; as he knows it is what he was meant to do. He will continue to be a part of the community whether it is with his son’s Cub Scout Pack, being a member of St. Louise de Marillac Church, the Brookfield-La Grange Park Lion’s Club, the Brookfield Chamber, and the La Grange Park Chamber. While his wife, Danielle, is part Owner and an Assistant, she will not typically be on-site as she is continuing her path as an educator with our young leaders of tomorrow. You will see her around town at community events and you may hear her on the other end of the phone as she will be helping families answer questions. Both Chuck and Danielle are devoted to their children Rachel and Joe, who attend school in La Grange Park. Rachel is a 5th grader who loves school and her favorite subject is Math. She is involved with Band playing the clarinet, being a Junior Girl Scout, taking piano lessons, and playing fastpitch softball. Joe is a 3rd grader who tries hard in school and enjoys running around in PE. He is involved in being a Bear in Cub Scouts, taking piano lessons, and playing baseball. As a family, they enjoy getting away to go for bike rides and camping. They treasure making family memories whenever and wherever they can.
