Robert John Ardisana, age 77 of Riverside. Beloved husband of 38 years to Corinne Ardisana, nee Ciemiega; loving father of Laura (the late Edward) Dagdick, Mark (Debbi) Ardisana, Katherine (Steven) Domian, Robert (Karen) Ardisana, Rhiannon (Travis) Cleveland, Racquel (Joseph) Penney, Ryanne (William) Hanley; grandfather of Richard Graves, Jonathan Graves, Bryan Ardisana, Mark Ardisana, Cassandra Quinton, Steven Domian, Devin Hard, A.J. Ardisana, Grayson Cleveland, Kennedy Cleveland and the late Charles Graves; great grandfather of 6; brother of 8; brother in law of Doreen (Charles) Christensen; uncle and great uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Bob was an adventurer seeker who always had a project in the works. He went on his first airplane ride in a crop duster at his aunt and uncle’s farm in Wisconsin when he was just a kid and knew from that day that he belonged in the sky. He flew various small planes throughout his life as a private pilot out of Midway, then Lewis University and most recently Bult Field though he said his favorite plane was the Stearman. With everlasting enthusiasm and seemingly endless energy, Bob was also an entrepreneur and small business owner of Nova Printing and Litho in Chicago. He was a scuba diver and part of the Penguin Scuba Club in the 70s. He enjoyed sailing, skiing, and traveling with his children and wife. He especially loved trips to State and National Parks. He enthusiastically shared stories of his adventures with family and friends alike. Bob always kept busy with home improvement projects, car work, building a kit airplane, and maintaining his fishponds. He was quick to lend a helping hand and could fix just about anything. An avid reader, often reading multiple books at a time, it seemed like he knew something about just about everything. Bob was an animal lover and shared a special bond with many dogs over his life and his macaw Sweet Pea. He is missed tremendously by his family and friends.

At this time of Covid-19 family has elected to keep Services & Interment Private.

Combining Bob’s love of flight and the natural world., Memorials are appreciated to:  LightHawk Conservation Flying [1],  www.lighthawk.org/donatenav/lighthawk/ [2], PO Box 913239, Denver, CO 80291, where volunteer pilots help contribute to conservation projects across the United States.

Condolence from Viresh Patel on August 17th, 2020 8:27 am

Want to give my deepest sympathy and condolance to the entire family. Siblings, children, grandchild, and Corinne.

Bob was my dear friend.

Our friendship goes back to 1968. I was 21, and attending University at Michigan State. I traveled with a friend to Chicago from East Lansing, michigan to look for a summer job. There weren’t many job postings back then, so we had to go door to door. My friend said, ‘you go in that building, and I’ll go in the one across the street”. It was in that brief decision and moment that I would meet my mentor, inspiration, boss and dear friend, Bob.

I got to the 3rd floor and met Bob. He ran a print shop and offered me a job as a pressman. It was my first printing job, which would catapult me into a lifelong career as a printer. We started working together every Summer until I graduated University. I then moved to Chicago and started working full time. My name is Viresh Patel, but back then, people didn’t know how to pronounce many ethnic names so Bob gave me a nickname that has stuck to this day. Pat. He put it in on my locker at work. He still called me Viresh though.

After Bob’s separation from his first wife, we ended up moving in together. He had four kids at the time. Laura, Kathy, Mark and Bobby Jr. I would help to babysit the kids and became very fond of them. After Bob met his current wife, Corinne, we ended up moving apart, but our friendship never changed.

Bob taught me so much. Not only printing, but construction, plumbing, we even built model boats together. He was my mentor, and I looked up to him. He told me once that I was the smartest person he knew and I told him he was the smartest and the hardest working man I knew.

I have and will always admire Bob. He was so adventurous and cool. He loved the water and boats, motorcycles, vintage cars and even built his own airplane. Bob and I scuba dived together, and were members of the the penguins scuba club in Chicago. He was a cool dude.

My life changed after meeting Bob, for sure. I wouldn’t be the man I am now if it weren’t for him. He will forever be in my thoughts and heart.
Will be missed dearly. God blessed his great family. He is better place with GOD.

Condolence from Mirna Gasca on August 17th, 2020 4:01 pm

Corinne and family, know that you are all in our prayers. Our heartfelt sympathy & thoughts are with you. We are so very saddened by Bob’s passing. For over 30 years, because of my close friendship with Doreen, whenever I had the chance to talk to Bob at family get togethers, I knew that I was going to learn something new, hear an incredible story or get some sound advice. His storytelling only got better with time. After getting married & having my son, Marco, he continued to entertain & engage us with his family history, fascinating stories of growing up in Chicago, especially his high school years at Lane Tech, interesting jobs he once held, and of course his adventures. His unforgettable laughter and humor was contagious! He loved a good conversation but what he loved most was sharing how proud he was of his beautiful family. He was a proud husband, father & grandfather! He will be greatly missed. Sending you much love, peace & strength. May God bless you & surround you with his loving comfort. Love, Marco, Mirna & Marco

We are so sorry for your loss. Bob was such a great person and neighbor and he will be surely missed. I enjoyed hearing all of his amazing stories and seeing all his neat things like his airplane in his garage. He was also a great listener and genuine person. He was so proud of all his children and grandchildren and he lit up while speaking about them. I know he lived his life to the fullest and I look up to his upbeat and positive nature. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to help out.
