Rev. Lorenz H. (Larry) De Vries, age 89, of Indian Head Park, IL, passed away on April 1, 2021. Beloved husband for 64 years of Heather De Vries, nee Shanklin: loving father of Lisa (the late Mark) Workman, Thom (Nancy) De Vries, Mark (Ann) De Vries and Mary (Jeff) Kostos; devoted grandfather of Amy (Davin) Erickson, Mary (Doug) Spencer, Jonathon (Amelia) Workman, Tommy (Hilary) De Vries, Hope (Mike) Tagliere, Lauren De Vries, Michael De Vries, Kathryn De Vries, Ryan Kostos and Paxton Kostos; great grandfather of Finn, Riley, Charlotte, Allie, Mikey, Holland and Haven; dear brother of Mary De Vries, the late Rev. Calvin (the late Jan) De Vries, the late Ruth (the late Fred) Huisman, the late Esther ( the late William) Topp, the late Rev. John (the late Caroline) De Vries; brother in law of Robert (Betty) Shanklin; uncle and great uncle of many.

Larry De Vries received his Masters of Divinity from McCormick Theological Seminary and was ordained into ministry in the Presbyterian Church USA in 1957. After serving as Pastor in Rushville, IL and Aledo, IL, Larry retired in 1997 as Pastor of Calvary United Protestant Church in Park Forest, IL, where he faithfully served for 29 years and was honored as Pastor Emeritus following his retirement. He touched many lives through his years of dedicated ministry, musical gifts, laughter, and kindness to all people he met.

Due to restrictions related to the pandemic, the family will be having a private memorial service which will be recorded and available to view after May 16, 2021, at www.presbyws.org.
