Victor A. Carlberg, age 85, WWII Army Veteran, of Westmont formerly of LaGrange Park. Beloved husband of Dorothy R. Carlberg, nee Bartos; loving father of Sandy (Gary) Jacobson, Tom Carlberg, John (Sheila) Carlberg, Tim (Maureen) Carlberg, Sue Lilly and the late Geoffrey Carlberg; grandfather of Vanessa, Erica, Matthew, Anne, Aeryn, Jennifer and David; great grandfather of 8; brother of the late Joan (the late Ray) Cislack; uncle of Diane Janes, Karen Chase, Eileen Cislak and Alan Cislak. Visitation Monday, April 30, 2012 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Tuesday May 1, 2012 from 10:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd. 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield. Funeral 11 A.M. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Vic was a longtime member of the Brookfield-LaGrange Park Lions Club, serving many positions as well as president. He had a longtime involvement with the LaGrange Park Little League, serving as coach and manager for his three sons; his name appears regularly in the 2004 history of that organization, "Touching all the Bases." Served the St. Louise de Marillac Church for many years in several capacities. Vic also served as Scoutmaster and assistant Scoutmaster for the Cub Scout Pack 111 in La Grange Park. Vic was an avid high-handicap golfer for most of his adult life, rain, snow or shine. He also enjoyed traveling to Wisconsin on his son's annual fishing trips, working on his car or other tinkering and was an avid reader and cruciverbalist.
