Robert “Robbie” Pfister

d. April 12, 2022

Robert "Robbie" Pfister passed away on April 12th, 2022 at the age of 34 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Robbie had a deep appreciation for life and embraced it as if it had no limits. Whether camping on the shores of Lake Superior, or setting up a tie-dying station with his nieces and nephew, he loved it all. He was the oldest soul but a true kid at heart. He lived a big life but was a guy of simple pleasures.

Robbie was born on October 6th, 1987 to Janis and Jerry. He graduated from Elmhurst College in 2011. He found his calling in 2014 when he began to work as a Ranger for Kane County Forest Preserve.

He met Keri in 2017 and they married in early 2022. They shared no children except the fur-kids they fostered or adopted together. They enjoyed life by traveling, camping, visiting breweries and so much more.

Robbie's love of the outdoors was only surpassed by the love he had for his wife and family. Beloved husband of Keriann Dubina; fond son of Jerry and Janis Pfister, nee Schaaf; son in law of Martin Dubina and Pamela Dubina, nee Gacek; dear brother of Caroline (Brian) Shields and Charlie Pfister; brother in law of Samantha Dubina; Uncle of Nora and George Shields; uncle and godfather of Samantha Shields; nephew, cousin and friend of many.

In remembrance of Robbie, the family asks that donations are made in his memory to Friends of the Porkies (Porcupine Mountains) or Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. https://www.porkies.org https://www.bearnecessities.org

Robbie will be honored with an outdoor Celebration of Life and Bar-B-Q to be held on June 11th, 2022, from 1pm-4pm at Creek Bend Nature Center in St. Charles. If desired, guests are invited to wear apparel from their favorite national park, outdoor adventure or brewery and to please bring a memory or photo to share.
