Richard J. Rojek, age 87, of Brookfield, IL, passed away on May 14, 2021. Beloved husband of Mary Ann Rojek, nee Suchan; amazing father to Deborah (Les) Kalman; loving and doting grandfather to Alexander, Erika, and Natalie Kalman, dear brother to Leo (and the late Michaeline), Thaddeus (Antoinette), Victoria (John) Dominas, and Dolores, uncle to many nieces and nephews, and close friend to Donald Bresky. He was predeceased by his angel son Richard, his parents Walter and Antonette (Lenartowicz) Rojek and friend Henry Dorn.
Rich grew up in Chicago attending Good Shepherd, Farragut, and Wright College/Northern Illinois University to launch his career in manufacturing engineering. He loved his hard-working father and loving mother who was a fabulous cook. He shared fond memories of chasing rabbits in fields near their home with the "Old Gang" neighborhood friends and going to the farm in Tamaroa with his siblings.
Rich was an incredible dancer and met his wife Mary Ann at Boulevard ballroom. He was a kind-hearted man who put others first, loved inventing things, and giving advice. He shared his love of fishing, boating, and skiing with his daughter Debbie. He was an amazing dad who was always there for her from building a sandbox to walking her down the aisle.
Rich was past president of Berwyn Fraternal Order of Eagles and enjoyed trips and weekly outings with his buddies. One of his greatest joys was being a grandpa, taking the grandchildren everywhere, and creating great memories. We will always cherish our time with Rich and remember him forever. Rest in peace.
