Richard A. Meyer, 88, died peacefully February 9, 2024 after an extended hospitalization in company of family. In his youth he lived in Cicero, Chicago, and later Darmstadt, Germany, in service of the US Army. Later he and his wife of 52 years, Janet (Schrader) moved to LaGrange where they raised their children: Cindy Lou, Daniel, Robin, and Timothy. They were known for their hospitality and hosting neighborhood events. Richard was self-employed in the field of soluble oils analysis until retiring in his mid-70s. Preceding him in death were his first child and only daughter, Cindy Lou; his brothers, Jim and Bill; sister-in-law, Barbara; wife, Janet; great-grandson, Damian; and great-nephew, Michael.
Services and Interment were held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
