Philip Bergstrom, age 87, of Naperville, formerly of the Northern Illinois Area and Hemet, CA. Phil was a retired Minister of the United Methodist Church after 36 years of Pastoral Service. Beloved husband of Rue Bergstrom, nee Sedivy; loving father of Paul (Geniel Kemper) Bergstrom and Cathy Bergstrom; father by marriage of Deanne (the late Paul) Marek, David Greco and the late Donald Greco; grandfather of Jessica Hanspire, Brittany Lydon, Bryan Bergstrom, Courtney Bergstrom, Brandon Moakhamphiou; grandfather by marriage of Julie (Grant) Ondo, Holly (Dan) LaDuca, Scott Marek, Emily (David) Morrill, Sam (Brian) Piazza, Anna (Brian) Timmer, Grace (Jake) Maurer, Luke Marek; great grandfather of 6 and 11 more by marriage; uncle of several nieces and nephews.
Phil will be remembered by many as a beautiful singer in both church and musicals. He also loved to play cribbage and was a force not to be reckoned with because of his cunning strategies. Phil loved spending time with his entire family and was an avid golfer and bowler.
