Norman R. Sehnoutka

Norman R. Sehnoutka, Korean War Army Veteran, 94, of Lombard, formerly of LaGrange Park. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Betty) Sehnoutka, nee Hastik; loving father of Russell (Linda) Sehnoutka, Tracey (Tim) Edwards and the late Norman R. Sehnoutka, Jr and his devoted daughter-in-law Patti Sehnoutka; dear grandfather of Norman (Siobhan) Sehnoutka III, Christine Baston, Jonathan (fiancée Anna Trop) Sehnoutka, Erin Edwards and Alex Edwards; great grandfather of Nicola, Olivia, Lucia, Marcella and Saoirse; uncle of Sharon (Joseph) Bukvic. 

Norman lived a full and quietly remarkable life as a lifelong resident of LaGrange Park, Illinois. He spent his entire career at Western Electric, building a reputation as a dependable and hardworking man. 

In 1955, Norm married the love of his life and childhood neighbor, Betty, and together they shared 63 years of marriage before her passing. Their bond was the heart of Norm's life - a partnership built on devotion, patience, and love that never wavered. 

Norm was a devoted father who loved his children deeply and unconditionally. He was, above all, a family man - steady, present, and endlessly supportive. 

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Norm had a true love of gardening, especially growing vegetables, and took pride and satisfaction in watching things grow under his care. He also cherished time outdoors, whether fishing in the North Woods or golfing with friends & family - moments that brought him peace and connection to the world around him. 

Those who knew Norm will remember him as a humble man with an unshakable moral compass. He never complained, never had an unkind word for anyone, and carried himself with a quiet integrity that earned the respect of all who knew him. He was also a natural storyteller, known and loved for his ability to turn a short story into a longer tale. 

Norm will be remembered not for grand gestures, but for the steady, gentle way he lived - loving his family, tending his garden, and finding contentment in the outdoors he loved so much. 

Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026 from 9 A.M. to time of Service 11 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9445 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. 

Interment Private.
