Martha “Marti” A. Rus, nee Katich, age 94, of La Grange Park, Illinois was born to the late Frank and Martha (nee Masopust) Katich, Jr. on June 14, 1928 in Chicago. Beloved Wife of the late Frank C. Rus, Loving Mother of Frank C. (the late Randi) Rus Jr., Steven E. (Lynn) Rus, Debra M. (Randell) Richey, Pamela M. (Clifford) Haines and Laura J. (Earl) Vraney. Devoted Grandmother “Gramma” of Marideth C. (Christopher Marks) Rus, Darren M. (Danae) Rus, William R. (Christine) Richey, Frank C. Rus III, Jaimie M. (Thomas) Caudill, Caitlin A. Haines, Nicole M. (Chris) Mach, Hailey A. (Jose) Contreras, April M. Haines, Megan A. Vraney. Cherished Great Grandmother “GG” of Ava and Cora Rus, Grayson and Noah Marks, and Alister Richey. Dear Sister of late Frank Joseph “FJ” Katich. “Aunt Marti” to many nieces and nephews. Loving Cousin to Beverly Parat Kott, Joseph “Joey” Novacek, Ronald Krimbel and the late Richard A., Geraldine and Jeannie Katich.
A Faith-Filled Mother who guided her children in her Catholic faith including attendance at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic School and Church Mass. ‘Mom’ was a parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Parish since its beginning in 1956. ‘Mom’ prayed to Our Blessed Virgin Mary in The Rosary and to Jesus every night to Bless her while she slept, even right before her Eternal Sleep.
Lying in State Friday, November 18, 2022 from 9:00 am to time of Mass 11:00 am at the Alexine Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Avenue, La Grange Park, Illinois. Please enter the Chapel by using the eastside entrance.
