Mark William Melzer

Obituary

Mark William Melzer, age 54, of Brookfield. Beloved husband of Suzanne Warda; loving son of Kathleen and Paul Szachnitowski, nee Wagner and the late William Melzer; brother of Christopher (partner: Anne Peterson) and Jarrett (Sky) their children Zach and Nixie; stepbrother of Andrea (Dave Kelly); adored son in law of Robert Warda Sr. and the late Celeste Warda; brother in law to Robert Jr. (Lori); their children Luke, Dylan and Logan and Thomas (Jessica) and their children Noralee and Theo.  Loved by many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Loving husband, brother, son, friend, kind soul to all, and talisman of weather. Mark met his wife and one true love, Sue Warda, at a 4th of July party in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, marking the beginning of a great romance that never wavered, and was envied by all. Equally devoted to his cat Alice, loved by his family, and cherished by the lifelong friends he made along his journey as a college student, restaurant pro, writer, artist, and finally as an editor for close friend Albert Bren. Mark adored his books and loved live music, especially summer concerts in Millennium Park, under the stars with Sue. He was a man of many passions, including art, comedy, cooking, museums, traveling, the Chicago Cubs and Bulls, shrining and adventure-seeking of all kinds. He graced us all with a sense of humor like no other, a brilliant mind, and an infectious positivity that could never be extinguished, even in the face of great adversity. There was no one quite like Mark Melzer. And so it goes.
