Marie Hornacek, nee Mrkva, age 95, of Countryside, formerly of Chicago and Berwyn. Marie was a dedicated cook, homemaker and possibly the best cookie and Pastry baker in the state of Illinois. Known as the "Cookie Lady". Beloved wife of the late John A. Hornacek; fond mother of John (Sue) Hornacek; dear grandmother of Jeff (Stacy) Hornacek, Jay (Jennifer) Hornacek, Jim (Ruth) Hornacek and John (Ellen) Hornacek; great-grandmother of Ryan, Tyler, Abby, Alex, Hannah, Kyle, Sarah, Andrew, Carson and Ethan; sister of Lena Brustik, Anna Sovis, the late Joe Mrkva and Frank Mrkva; Visitation Saturday, January 24, 2009, 10:30 A.M. to time of service 11:30 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield.
