James “Randy” Randall Vesecky, age 71, of LaGrange Park, was the loving son of James Vesecky and Ruth Vesecky, née Kruse.
Beloved husband of Cathy Vesecky, née Schleicher, and the late Diane Vesecky, née Trushenski; devoted father of Diane Michelini and James (Lela) Vesecky; and cherished stepfather of Shannon (Andreu) Martinez. He was a proud and caring grandfather to Makenzie Michelini, Vince Michelini, Lily Vesecky, James Vesecky, Beau Vesecky, Liza Martinez, and Nolan Martinez. Randy was a devoted brother to David (Nancy) Vesecky, Ruth Vesecky, and Diane (Arthur) Winne, and a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Randy was one of the owners of Vesecky’s Bakery—a treasured, fourth-generation Czech-style bakery that has served the Berwyn, IL community for over a century. Nothing made him happier than sharing the bakery with his grandchildren, especially bringing them there on their birthdays to select their favorite treat and make cookies together.
Renowned for his exceptionally loving nature, Randy welcomed everyone with open arms, a generous heart, and a quick wit. He always had a funny story for every occasion and delighted in pulling playful pranks, making every family gathering or community event memorable. Outside the bakery, Randy cherished spending time outdoors, finding great joy in fishing and hunting with friends and loved ones.
Above all, Randy treasured time spent with his family—whether gathered for holidays, special occasions, or simply sharing a meal and laughter. His kindness, humor, and zest for life touched all who knew him.
Randy’s legacy lives on in the traditions he preserved, the bakery he cherished, and the hearts of his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
