Gene A. Moreno of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away February 18, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 83. He was born January 15, 1938, in Cicero, Illinois, the son of Mario and Rose Kemp Moreno. He was married to his wife, Nancy Prancl on January 9, 1961, in Chicago, Illinois and later had four children. Gene lived in Mountain Home since moving from Berwyn, after his retirement from Illinois as a truck driver in 2000. He was a proud member of the 705 Teamsters Union and even more proud Teamsters Steward. Throughout his life he had many proud accomplishments. He received many awards in his lifetime starting with his younger days as a goalie while playing hockey and continuing into his race car driving days. He had many hobbies over the years including playing pool, and of course his greatest loves, fishing and hunting. He was an active member to many clubs. He had the greatest sense of pride for his Chicago Sports teams, DA Bears and of course the Chicago Blackhawks. Most of all, something he will leave behind is his sense of humor that will never be forgotten.

Gene is survived by his daughter, Gina Vasquez (Joseph); five grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexandrea, Ashley, Christina, Nicole; and three great-grandchildren, Adriana, Vito and Damiano. He leaves behind many great friends including his companion Sallie.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mario Moreno and Rose Moreno, nee Kemp; wife Nancy Moreno, nee Prancl; son, Michael; and daughters, Mary Camarillo and Michele Moreno.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Arkansas.   Information www.kirbyandfamily.com or call 870-425-6978

A Visitation will be held Friday, February 26, 2021 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 W. 31 st Street, Brookfield.

Covid Regulations allow for a maximum of 50 people in the funeral home at a time. Face coverings are required, the lounge facilities are closed, outside food or beverages are not allowed at this time. All are asked to pay their respects/condolences to Gene and his family and be cognitive of others waiting to do the same.

A Chapel Service will be held Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.  All whom would like to attend are asked to meet at the Cemetery Entrance just in front of the Main office at the entrance by 9:50 A.M.  We will be lead to the Chapel for a 10 A.M. Committal Service.
