Frederick T. McLaughlin, age 88, WWII Navy Veteran of North Riverside formerly of LaGrange Park.  Lifelong friend and ex-husband of Mary McLaughlin; devoted father of Maureen (Fred) Aikens, Linda (Tom) Purl, Muffy (Brian) O'Donnell; dear grandfather of Tom (Kacie) Purl, Michael Purl, Ashley (Andrew) Phelan, Brandon Aikens, Sean O'Donnell and Mac O'Donnell; great grandfather of Tommy Purl; brother of the late Dr. James (Kay) McLaughlin; uncle to many nieces and nephews; dear friend of Fran Crowley.  Visitation Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Monday June 11, 2012 from 9 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31 ^st Street, Brookfield.  Funeral Monday 9:30 A.M. to St. Louise de Marillac Church, LaGrange Park.  Mass 10 A.M.  Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.  Fred was a member of the Bagpipes and Drums of the Emerald Society of the Chicago Police Department, American Legion Coulter Post 1941 and the North Riverside VFW Post 2378.  Information 708-485-2000 or www.HitzemanFuneral.com
