Clarence Backus, age 80, WWII 2nd Division Marine Veteran. Beloved husband of Mary Backus, nee Uher. Loving father of Philip (Stacey) Backus and John Backus. Grandpa of four. Brother to Francis Helems, and the late Lorriane Willmore, Helen McGrath, Neva Logdson and Philip Backus. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Funeral Monday 9:30 A.M. to St. Barbara Church, Brookfield. Mass 10:00 A.M., Fr. Maurice Kissane officiating. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Clarence was a member of Brookfield V.F.W. Post #2868 and the Chicago Police Marines and was past Commander of the American Legion Marine Post 273. Clarence was a recipient of 2 Purple Heart Medals.
