Obituary
Christina DiBenedetto, age 45, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of West Linn, Oregon and Chicago, IL. Beloved wife of Larry Rosenberg; loving mother of Quinn and Liam Rosenberg; also a loving mother to her bonus children Eamonn and Niall Rosenberg; dear sister Angela Layden; sister in law of Brian Layden and super cool aunt of Claire and Andrew Layden; fond grand daughter of Caterina DiBenedetto; dear niece and cousin of many.
Christina was preceded in death by her parents Sal and Reba DiBenedetto. Raised in North Riverside Illinois, a graduate of Nazareth Academy High School in La Grange Park and graduated with her bachelor’s from Northern Illinois University. Christina was a person who loved her boys with all of her heart who were her everything. She married a person with two boys and loved them equally with all of her heart. Christina wanted to be the best mom she could be, so she decided to work at a preschool to help her achieve superstar mommy status. She wound up making life long friends with the Mac preschool crowd. The word MAMA bear is spot on with her devotion to Quinn and Liam. She would do anything for them. She spoke about her bonus sons with the same kind of love and ferocity. They were all her four boys! Christina was so proud of the blended family she helped create. She did this knowing how important it was to help raise her bonus sons. She created a wonderful relationship with their mommy and bonus dad as well. She loved her pets especially her puppies Moby, Riley and Edna. She never gave up on her passion for photography. She had a gift that very few have. She always saw the beauty in people, places, pets, and captured that in ways that were stunning. Christina had a sense of adventure and curiosity in the places she lived and visited. She would have so many places picked out that we had to go explore and explore we did. She was always so excited when we had visitors. We had many adventures including Chicago, Fredericksburg, VA, West Linn, Oregon and recently achieving our goal of purchasing a home in Simpsonville, South Carolina. She had so many friends, and told stories for hours about all of them. She loved them fiercely as well. She left an impression on all of them. She made strong friendships no matter where she was. She loved them fiercely as well.
The family wants to thank all of the doctors, nurses, care advocates and EMT’s who helped guide us through this untimely and unexpected passing. The family also is thankful for the outpouring of gifts, messages, meals and support from all of our friends in the various communities we have lived including Chicago, Dekalb, West Linn, and Simpsonville. We could not get through this without you.
Christina will be deeply missed by her friends, family, bonus family and especially her boys.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2023 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. and Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 9:30 A.M. to 10 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9445 31st Street, Brookfield. Funeral Service Saturday 10 A.M.
Interment Private.

(If you are not attending services and you do not have the families current address, please send in a standard sealed card/envelope to the funeral home in C/O Christina DiBenedetto and it will be directly forwarded to the family.)
Christina spent years donating both her time and talent to volunteering at numerous organizations: Equine Therapy programs for disabled children and young adults, a battered women’s shelter, photography for numerous charities, the Special Olympics, soup kitchens and food banks, Tim Tebow’s A Night To Shine Special Needs Prom, and just weeks ago, submitted all of her paperwork and documents to work as a mentor to children in the Simpsonville area school districts in South Carolina to work with children who have lost a parent, are in a foster care home situation or have a parent who is incarcerated. I wish to honor my wife for her incredible and unending generosity, love of life, and the deep care she had for others by giving back to her boys who should never have had to say goodbye to their Mommy. Christina was a rockstar. She is so very missed.
