Margaret S. Polak, nee Zelnick, age 95 of Brookfield. Beloved wife of the late Robert E. Polak; fond mother of Susan E. (Greg Elgin) Hinz and Kathy L. (Howard J. “Jack”) Timms; dear grandmother of Erik Foster-Hinz, Tamara Wilson and Lindsay (Kurt) Hografe; great grandmother of Troy Foster and Jake Foster; sister of David (Helen) Zelnick and the late George (the late May) Zelnick, Charles (the late Esther) Zelnick, Edward (the late Evelyn) Zelnick, Richard (the late Dorthea) Zelnick and Alice (the late Ted) Radjeski. Memorial Gathering Saturday, September 9, 2017, 9 A.M. to Time of Service 10 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Interment Private. Margaret was a long time secretary and previous Village Clerk of Brookfield; Margaret was also a dedicated member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Brookfield. You will be missed, Marge. You were a lovely neighbor and friend to many on your block in Brookfield. God rest your soul.
My heart goes out to the family! Longevity is certainly a blessing, but death at any age is too soon. Death is unnatural and not a part of God’s original purpose, so for good reason the Bible calls death an enemy- one that God through Jesus Christ will soon eliminate (1 Corinthians 15:26). I was unable to come today – due to my pastoral work – Marge was a dear lady – I visited her several times at Cantata – she was one of my earlier bowling partners in the Village Church bowling league – and we remained friends – she was a dear and loving lady – God bless you all so very much!!!
