Sending condolences to ‘Joe’s’ family–that’s how I’ll always remember him from LTHS. He and I had a couple of classes together and even worked together @WLTL our h.s. radio station. I will always remember that he made me laugh. . .I’ll bet he’s performing now in heaven!!!

Wishing his family peace and healing in this difficult time.

Condolence from Joe Landers on February 13th, 2013 7:59 pm

My condolences to the family on your loss. I have known Jay for a few years now in amateur radio. He has always assisted me in communications projects such as Virginia Special Olympics and in the group that assisted in emergency communications with the Virginia E.O.C. named ARCA. As current President he was my Vice President and he was always ready to assist in any level at any time. Our members will miss Jay as he was a great friend and amateur to all of us.

I was sorry to learn of Jay’s passing and extend my sympathies to the Silvio and DiLorio families as well as his friend Deborah. He will always be remembered as a kind and helpful person with a great sense of humor by many amateur radio operators in the Greater Richmond Area. Jerry Williams KJ4IT

I am so terribly saddened to learn of Jay’s passing. Sadly, I never had the pleasure of meeting him, but he was one of my favorite people to have worked with over the past six years.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences to his family, and may he rest in peace.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I was watching a Pizza commercial and for some reason out of the blue I thought of Jay. He worked with me at my first ‘real’job as a Police/Fire dispatcher in 1977-78 at DuComm. He’d go into his announcer voice and do a comedy bit about police calls – you stab them we slab them etc. If you didn’t keep your sense of humor in that job you’d loose your mind. I had heard he was working for a network in communications. We both went to LT – I didn’t know Jay in school but he was so much fun to work with and just as friends he took me out to Salernos for Pizza and dark beer. He was always nice to everyone and he made the job so much more bareable. I had tried to find him years ago but didn’t su red. I would have loved to see him or talk to him again. I was going through a very difficult time when I met him and we became friends. I will always remember that voice and how he made me laugh. I’m so sorry for your loss but I’m so glad he was my friend. May God bless you all. He was a very talented and special person. I’ve thought of him often over the years and missed him.
