[1]James Kummerow, age 84, Korean Air Force Veteran. Jim was a longtime model airplane enthusiast loving to build and fly. Beloved wife of Josephine Kummerow, nee Hobart. Loving father of Gayle Kummerow, Jody Cote, Terry Kummerow and the late Mark Kummerow; grandfather of Tony Kummerow, Jim Cote III and Eric (Megan) Cote. Visitation Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2 P.M. to 6 P.M at Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. To my cousin’s, your Dad & your family was a very big part of my life growning up, he will be missed but never forgotten.

Kummerow family, Sorry for your loss of Jim. You don’t know me but when I was a kid (I’m 80 now) my cousin and I lived on 31st St. in Chicago, right across the street from where Jim flew his model planes. We would go and watch him fly with his friends. They would fly in pairs and try to cut the streamers off the tails of each others planes. In fact we built planes to fly back in the day. No radio control back than, just wire control. Anyway very sorry for your loss.
