There was a grand reunion in heaven last night. The Peter and Mary Vuchetich family welcomed home Uncle Jimmy! We will miss you but know that you are reunited with all your loved ones.

So very sorry to hear of Uncle Jim’s passing. It’s so hard to lose the last of a generation. But oh, the homecoming must have been grand!

Uncle Jim both a gentleman and a gentle man. He will be missed. My dad, Rudy, was one of his older brothers.

Uncle Jimmy was a true gentleman and a joy to be around. Lots of history, lots of stories. He was also a maniac driver. His garden was his pride. May heist spirit live on in eternal bliss and freedom.

Sorry to hear about Uncle Jim. Jim’s brother John my father will have been gone 8 yrs tomorrow I’m sure there is some argueing going on now that all the brothers are together. John son Tom Vucetich.

Uncle Jim will be remembered with much love and respect – he was a most gracious gentleman, loved by the entire family.

Uncle Jim drove himself at 90+ years to a family reunion in Wisconsin..very impressed…he was quite the gentleman and informative of family history.

I remember him telling my dad that the cop gave him bad directions when we were driving from east coast to Nebraska and stopped in Chicago area to visit him and Val.(in 1959 bad = *&%$#). That reunion was 8 years ago in 2011 and Uncle Jim brought his girl friend with him.
I have a great but short visit with him two years ago.

The Vuchetich family can be comforted by knowing that Jim was cared for and attended to almost daily for the past several years by a “guardian angel.” Jim called Cheryl Gawel his angel. She and her husband, Ed, regularly spent time with him, took him to doctor and dental appts., did his laundry, brought him to family holiday gatherings and were by his side during his last days on earth. Jim was not alone and fully realized their kindness and love until the very end.

Thank you, Nancy. Thank you Ed and Cheryl Gawel! We are very appreciative for you, the Angels in our Uncle Jimmy’s life. My wife and I visited Jimmy each summer of the last 5 years or so, first at his home, then at the couple of Assisted Liiving facilities. Thank heaven you helped him make the transition from his home to assisted living. His couple of driving accidents after our 2016 visit must have triggered that need. He could no longer drive to the restaurants and his church like he was used to and needed help. I must say, he put our hairs on end one time in 2015 when he insisted on driving a few of us to Anthony’s Restaurant. He peeled into traffic like a teenager with new found freedom! LOL, we sure enjoyed spending time with him. He was the last surviing sibling of my father, Peter…all our love and thanks to everyone!

I only got to meet Great Uncle Jim a handful of times – but what great times! Smart as a whip and always had a smile on his face. He’ll be missed!

Uncle Jim was quite the gentleman and I so enjoyed my time with him. I stayed with him a few years ago and helped him clean and get rid of piles of mail! Luckily for me Ed told Jim to turn on the AC because it was so hot in the house! Jim never mentioned he had AC!!

The times I met Uncle Jim and Aunt Val were too few.but she was a crafty person making items for Grandma Mary’s 90 th extra special keepsakes for all..and Uncle Jim listened with interest to even the youngest relative whenever we visited..once a young child sent those magazine subscription request for supporting their school…Uncle Jim sent a note and a check..I don’t need more to read.but give this donation to your school. And please write to me anytime your handwriting will improve…Much Love Uncle Jim…Heaven is celebrating now…

To all you dear Vuchetich, Jim seemed, to me, to be another of the gentle, intelligent, kind Vuchetich men who I loved so much. I am a granddaughter of Emil and had the most wonderful father (Frank) and uncles. Plus my dearly loved aunts! So lucky to be a Vuchetich. God Bless Us, Every One.
