Grief Support Group

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., Brookfield, IL; is proud to serve our community and to offer a new program. We are now Hosting Grief Support Gatherings the Second Tuesday of Each Month.

In the past we have hosted pre-need seminars, hospice seminars, holiday remembrance events and other grief gatherings. We have found that through these events we can make a difference in the lives of the families that we serve. We are honored to offer monthly Grief Support Gatherings to the surrounding community. We strive to continue offering our support and assistance to all who may need it.

We know how losing a loved one affects the core of each family. Whether the passing is sudden or after a long battle with illness, each soul has a story. And everyone has their own way of coping with such a loss; sometimes, we don’t know how to start finding a way through the fog of emotions and despair.

Remembering the One Who Died

Managing difficult emotions after the loss of a loved one can be daunting. Early after the loss, the thought of memorializing your loved one may not be at the forefront of your mind. However, there may come a time when you’d like to do just that. If it’s your desire to keep your loved one’s memory alive, then this discussion is for you. Creating grief rituals helps you maintain a connection to your loved one while also leaving you with a sense of peace. As many ways as there are to grieve, there are just as many things you can do to remember the one you lost. In this discussion, you will learn ways to honor and cherish your loved one as well as be inspired to create a ritual right for you.

This event will be held on:

There is a sacredness in tears.
They are not the mark of weakness, but of power.
They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues.
They are the messengers of overwhelming grief…and unspeakable love.
