Geraldine E. VanCura, nee Kueck, age 93 of Westmont, formerly of Berwyn. Beloved wife of the late James J. VanCura Jr.; fond mother of Charlene (Bill) Arch, Roberta (Don) Wostratzky and Janet (Ed) Skalecki; dear grandmother of Nicholas and David (Donna) Woznicki, Darcie (John) Speicher, Craig Wostratzky and Carolyn (Christopher) Walters; great grandmother of William Franklin, Robert and Katelyn Woznicki, Rachel and Joshua Speicher and Tarryn Walters; sister of the late Lauretta (the late Joseph) Jordan. Visitation Friday, December 29, 2017 from 3 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. and Saturday, December 30, 2017 from 10:30 A.M. to time of Service 11 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL. Gerry “Chips” was a longtime Girl Scout leader for Lone Tree Area Council and was also a charter and active member of Adult Troop 007. So sorry for your lost. She was a special lady, full of excitement and passion for Girl Scouts and Square dancing and family.
Your mom was such a joy to spend time with at any of the Jordan get togethers. She was always so friendly and kind. We are so grateful that she had such a long, happy life with her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews close by. She, your dad, Lauretta and Joe are square dancing up a storm in heaven! May you all find comfort and peace in knowing she is in Paradise!

My heart goes out to the family! Longevity is certainly a blessing, but death at any age is too soon. Death is unnatural and not a part of God’s original purpose, so for good reason the Bible calls death an enemy- one that God through Jesus Christ will soon eliminate (1 Corinthians 15:26).
