Elizabeth “Betty” Rosenberg, nee Bluder, age 90, of Brookfield passed away on January 4, 2013 at LaGrange Memorial Hospital.

She was the beloved mother of Donna (Hank) Bongers, Wayne (Terri) Rosenberg and John (Lin) Rosenberg, grandmother of Sean Tormey, Emily Rosenberg, Evan Rosenberg and Aaron Rosenberg and great-grandmother of Kyle Miller-Tormey, Nicole Tormey and Gage Grant.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond O. Rosenberg, brother Ken Bluder and sisters Joan Galla, Darlene Stoppenbach, Marion Erickson and Bernice Darby.

She is survived by sisters Dorothy (Ed) Rickert, Grace Shipp and Carolyn “Dolly” Krabec, brother Raymond (Betty) Bluder and many nieces and nephews.

Betty was born on January 19, 1922, and was a resident of Brookfield almost her entire life, spending the majority of it two blocks away from where she grew up. She graduated from Lyons Township High School in 1940 and married in 1947. Before having children, she worked for Electro Motive in McCook. She sang in her church choir for 60 years, spent countless summers tending to her vegetable garden and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. She was able to travel more later in life but never flew in an airplane or drove a car.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2013, 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. At Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield.

She will lie in State Monday, January 7, 2013, 9:30 A.M. to time of Service 10 A.M. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 9035 Grant Avenue, Brookfield, followed by internment at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Stickney.
