Elizabeth “Betty” Mocek, nee Michalicka, age 93, of Chicago. Beloved wife of the late John Mocek Jr.; dear mother of John (Pattye) Mocek III and BettyAnn (Adam Walker) Mocek; cherished grandmother of John Robert (Nick Currie) Mocek and Elizabeth (Aaron) Hamner; sister of the late Steve (the late Dorothy) Michael and the late John (the late Jenny) Michalicka; adored aunt of Ruth (Jim) Lubawy, Nancy (Jim) Baty and Ellen (Tom Walter) Michael; dear great aunt of Laura (Andy) Mendyk, Michael (Alexis) Lumell, Malinda (Jared) Micho, Max Walter; great-great aunt of Drew, Miles, Theodore, Neve, Myla and Ani; true friend of many.
Visitation Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Family Gathering Friday, July 29, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Woodside Road, Riverside, IL 60546. Service at 11 a.m.
Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park.
Secretary of Laborers’ Union Local 1092 for over 20 years. Founding member of Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church Women’s Dorcas Society. Sunday school teacher for over 30 years. Lawndale Park youth baseball volunteer. Devoted to improving her community.
Memorials appreciated to Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church.
