Elaine B. Valenta, nee Vanicek died peacefully on January 7, 2017 at the age of 85. Born in Berwyn, Elaine lived the majority of her life in Glenview. Her life centered around family, neighbors and friends. Elaine was an enthusiastic world traveler, keen swimmer, avid bridge player, and bowler. For over 20 years Elaine served as office manager for Baekgaard Ltd. in Northbrook. Elaine is preceded in death by her beloved husband Stanley Valenta and was the loving mother of Randy (Kathleen) Valenta and Nancy Valenta; dear grandmother of Katherine Valenta, Danielle (Terry) O’Neill, Sr. and John Randolph Valenta; dear great grandmother of Katelyn O’Neill, Allison O’Neill and Terry O’Neil, Jr.; and aunt of Linda (Mark) Clawson and Rich Vanicek. Visitation for Elaine is on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield, IL 60513. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 203 S Kensington Ave, La Grange, IL 60525. Coffee and visitation begin at 10 A.M., the Service is at 11 A.M. Private interment will be at Bohemian National Cemetery. Please accept our deepest sympathy on the passing of Aunt Elaine. She is in our thoughts and prayers as well as the entire family. I echo my Mom’s words above.
