  1. Kathleen, Martin, Harry and Rosie condolence:

    Laurie,
I love this photo. It reminds me of the day that your mom showed me around her home before we picked you up from the hospital. She was so proud of her kids and grandkids and loved you all. My prayers are with you over the coming days and beyond. Love, Kathleen, Martin, Harry and Rosie

  2. Karen condolence:

Laur, the only woman who ever got me to eat fish sticks will be in my heart forever. You are in my thoughts and prayers as always. Love, Kare

  4. Edgardo, Stephen and the fury circus condolence:

    Dear Laurie and family:

Sometimes words fail to arrive when we need them. The harder you try to think, the faster they escape you.  When a loved one leaves us it is painful and disconcerting. Sometimes anger sets in because there is no answer or explanation.

Those of us who are not as close to the pain can (and will) put our arms around you and hold you for a second. That is what I was trying to do, when some words appeared. “it is just a transition. What is important is whether you love Mom, and if she loved you?” The answer is a resounding YES in both counts. Love is imperfect but it is love. And love destroys death. Love is what Mom took with her and love is what she left to all of you.

    Peace of heart to all,
    Edgardo and family

  5. Arlene Rutledge Casner condolence:

Your Mom was a good friend of mine in grade school and I am so sorry to hear of your loss. We shared so many special times when we were growing up. Arlene

  6. Grant & Mary Michaelson condolence:

    Dear Kate:

Please accept our condolences on your Mom’s passing. It was a pleasure to visit with her during the kids ballgames last year. I know she really enjoyed watching the boys play.
