Robert Jack (“Bob”) Putnam of La Grange Park passed away on February 1, 2007, at the age of 83. Bob was born November 15, 1923, in Chicago to Lawrence Putnam and May Putnam, nee Geible. He graduated from Calumet High School and then served his country in the U.S. Army at Anzio during World War II. He worked for many years as regional sales manager for White Motor Co. and later worked for Kenworth Truck Co. An avid golfer with an interest in history and all things mechanical, Bob will be remembered for his outgoing “salesman” personality. He is survived by his wife, Georgia Putnam, nee Lind; two children, Judith (Steven) Lary of Madison, WI, and Robin (Robert) Conrad of DeKalb, IL; two grandchildren, Brian and Katharine Lary; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Lou Murray, nee Putnam. A visitation from 1 p.m. to time of memorial service 2 p.m. will be held at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 W. 31st St., Brookfield, IL, on Saturday, February 24, 2007. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), 770 Broadway, 2nd floor, New York, NY 10003.
