Holiday Remembrance Event

Holidays can be the most difficult time of the year for someone who has experienced the death of a close family member or friend.  Our Holiday Remembrance Tribute is intended to give honor to those that we have lost.  We hope you have a blessed holiday season.

What we are up to!

Flag Retirement Program

Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services has started a Flag Retirement Program to honor our veterans.
At Hitzeman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, we are collecting those worn, tattered or torn American flags that are no longer suitable for display and are no longer fit to serve the nation.
To honor our veterans, and if a family wishes, we will provide one of the aged retired flags donated to be cremated alongside their veteran.

Within the 1st Month (since Flag Day-6/14/19) we have collected over 400 flags.

Music Under the Stars

We had a beautiful night of retro music with the Fenderskirts Wednesday, July 10, 2019.  We were delighted to so-sponsor the event.  To add to the nostalgia we handed out over 200 Push-up IceCream Sherbert pops.  It was so nice to hear our young at heart say “Wow, I haven’t had this since I was a kid”.   Some of the toddlers however looked at it and said”How does it work?” ahh, memories.

Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride

The Wounded Warrior Project Soldier Ride road past Hitzeman Funeral Home on 31st Street, braving the elements, on their way to a celebration in their honor at the Brookfield Zoo on June 20th. Veterans, friends and family rode 16.2-miles, the first of a three-day cycling experience encouraging those veterans to show how strong they really are. This event occurred not only around the Chicagoland but throughout the country. “As they rode past us, they thanked us,” Chuck said, “we were trying to thank them.” To support the Wounded Warrior Project please visit their site at https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate

Little League & Girls Softball

Hitzeman Funeral Home was proud to sponsor both the Brookfield,  LaGrange Park and LaGrange Little League and Girls Softball again this year.    We have been fortunate to sponsor some of these events to make sure the children have a fun, work as a team as well as giving us all something to cheer for.  A great season and a job well done by all the players and coaches.  It is true when they say, you can’t beat fun at the ballpark.

Go teams!

Congratulations to the LaGrange Park Little League Champs!
The Diamondbacks (minors) had a stellar season, and pulled though to 1st place for the Tournament of Champions, beating the Pirates 3-1.
Way to go Joe!

Shout out to the Girls LaGrange Softball League as well…the Yellow White Sox Majors Softball Team came in 2nd place at the championship. Rachel got the MVP medal during the 1st round of play-offs.

Theatre Night

The Hitzeman Family was proud to sponsor our 9th Theatre Night Event at the Theatre of Western Springs (www.theatrewesternspirngs.com) on March 6,2019. This year’s performance was Ravenscroft,   a who-done-it with a little spookiness in it, with an Inspector Ruffing interrogating and getting all mixed up with the 5 women of the Ravenscroft mansion.
