Dorothy R. Brazulis, nee Kurek, age 86, Resident of North Riverside for 58 years. The day of February 27, 2010 Dorothy left this world. The treasured and devoted mother of Donna M. Brazulis whom she loved so dearly her pride and joy forever. Wife of the late Walter L. Brazulis whom she loved from the day they met and were married for  60 years. The daughter of the late Clara and John Kurek, late brother John, late sisters Joanne (Charles) Lukasik  and Clara (Richard) Vlastnik. Aunt and Godmother of Carole (Bill) Kamin, Nephews Scott, Steven (Anna), Nicole Kamin, Cousin Genevieve (Wally) Stelter, Dearest life long Friends Eleanor Francich, Mary (Arthur) Kleidon, Lorraine (Joe) Dvorak, Irene (Cyril) Gazarek and Agnes (Ken) Fron. Dorothy’s greatest goal in life was to be a devoted wife and mother, she achieved this all her life. She made their home a happy place to come home to; which Dorothy, Wally and Donna shared with much love and happiness. She was a Co-Leader and helped to organize the first Girl Scout Troup in Mater Christi School. Joseph R. Gasparich of Broadview passed away on March 1, 2010 aged 59 years. Joe was born to Joseph and Betty (nee Buckosky) Gasparich in Oakmont, PA. Joe was a avid sports fan, with particular following of both the Chicago Bears and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe loved camping and made serious business of tailgating. Joe treasured the many friends he made over the years at the Cordial Inn. He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his fiancee Paulette Esparza. His children Joseph C. (Elizabeth) and Christine (Benjamin) Elizarrarez, his mother Betty A. Bugajski. He is also survived by his siblings Donna (Clarence) Wessman, Kathleen Gasparich, John (Margaret) Coleman, Gregory Gasparich, sister-in-law Mary Pat Hamilton and grandchildren, Nicole & Megan Gasparich and Jacob & Joshua Elizarrazez. He was preceded in death by his father Joseph and brother David. Joined the Naturals S.A.C. at age 16, and has continued to be a faithful member. Played hockey with the club past age 40, loved winter sports, snowmobiling in Michigan where he also rode ATV’s, spending happy days with family and friends. Donna DeNeault Peterson, 55 May 13, 2010, LaGrange - Loving wife, faithful sister, loyal friend, compassionate nurse, entertainer extraordinaire, world traveler, lover of life. Donna was born July 8, 1954 the elder child of LeRoy J. DeNeault and Beatrice Discipio DeNeault.  She grew up in LaGrange, was a member of the Lyons Township High School Class of 1972, and a graduate of the Loyola University Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing in 1976.  On April 25, 1980 she fell in love with and met the love of her life, Dana K. Peterson.  They were married October 16, 1982 at Bond Chapel of the University of Chicago. Donna had a career as a registered nurse working in area hospitals, in case management and in administrative positions.  She traveled the world with Dana and made friends wherever she went.  She will be remembered for her ability to make everyone feel loved, her many parties and her open and generous heart.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005 and underwent many surgeries and treatments never losing her beautiful smile and her optimism always for the future.   Donna was preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Robert Peterson.  She is survived by her loving husband Dana, faithful brother Don, the Martin family of Paris, France, mother-in-law Bernice Peterson; brothers-in-law Dr. Donald Kjome and Mark Berg; sisters-in-law, Darcy Kjome and Gay Peterson-Berg; nieces Ariel and Maddie; nephews Jake (Kirsten), Sam (Linda), Peter, Nick and Elton; aunts Lee Rempert, Rita Stephen, Annette Palmieri; uncle Dr. Joseph Discipio; many cousins; the Just Innocent Readers Book Club and a family of friends around the globe. PHILLIP

James Robert “J.R.” Phillip, Sr., of Hinsdale and more recently Westmont, IL was born in Chicago on July 8, 1925 to James A. and Helen Phillip.  Passed away peacefully on June 22, 2010 at the age of eighty-four.  A navigator in the U.S. Air Force during WWII, J.R. graduated from Northwestern University with a commerce degree then joined his parents’ flower business, Phillip’s Flowers & Gifts, founded in Cicero, IL in 1923, where he remained actively involved for 61 years, serving as Chairman Emeritus up to his passing.  A floral designer and local entrepreneur, J.R. was a co-founder and director of the Bank of LaGrange Park, a co-founder of the Metro Chicago Florist Delivery Coop, and a member of the American Academy of Floriculture (AAF).  A man of faith and family, J.R. was also a longtime member and past elder of Christ Church of Oak Brook.  He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Mary B. Phillip, sister Lee Phillip Bell of Chicago television fame, brother and business colleague Russell Phillip; children Jim (Gwen), Don (Sandy) and Baxter (Martha) Phillip, eight grandchildren; and one great grandson,  many of whom are leading the family business forward into its fourth generation.  A memorial service and celebration of faith in his honor, will be held Tuesday, June 29, 2010, 7:15 P.M. at Christ Church of Oak Brook, corner of 31st Street and York Road, Oak Brook. Mildred Anastasia Vytiska, 93, of Springfield and formerly of Brookfield, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at River Birch Senior Living in Springfield. She was born April 4, 1917 in Berwyn, IL the daughter of Frank J. and Marie (nee Vitek) Dvorak. On September 25, 1938 she married William J. Vytiska in Berwyn, IL. He preceded her in death in 1981. Mrs. Vytiska was a devoted wife, wonderful mother and doting grandmother. She loved her family, her gardens and hummingbirds. She was a long time member of the Hollywood-Brookfield Presbyterian Church. She is survived by two daughters, Lenore (Robert) Becker of Watervliet, MI and Nancy (Kenneth) Ruby of Springfield; three grandchildren, Michael Becker of Marianna, FL, Kathleen (Shawn) Holiday of Fort Myers, FL, and Jennifer (Anton) Llakmani of Chicago; five great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
