Janice & Family — so sorry to hear about Ed’s passing. I worked with him years ago (70’s & 80’s) when I was with Sears in Chicago.

He was a great guy – very intelligent with a very dry sense of humor. I used to love to rag him about his office. Don’t know how he ever found anything. But he did a great job and was a fine gentleman.

I can hear the Good Lord telling him that he can’t have a bunch of papers on his desk in heaven.

Dear Veome Children and Families;

Ed and Janice were dear friends for nearly 50 years. Our association, both personally and professionally, will always be remembered. We spent many times together, shared stories about our children, and just generally had a great time whatever the occasion. Ed and I built furniture and Grandmother clocks during evening hours after work when we visited Vermont American. Our clock is still running, and I trust that his is as well. Lots of great memories, and nothing but the highest respect for a warm, hard working, gentle, dedicated family man. We will miss him….but know he is at Peace and finally where he wanted to be: with the Lord and back with Janice at long last.

With Love and Prayers to you all in your time of sadness, but Joyful in the knowledge that he is at Rest.

I worked several years with your dad as the contact from Waterloo (tool boxes ) when he was the buyer and became a real friend. I had been communicating via email with him since we are both retired. He treasured the cruise you all went on and lived every day to experience new things with his family and tell all how proud he was of each and every one. God’s blessings to you all.What a man! I met Ed back in 1967 when he came from the Western Ave. Sears store to HQ or Parent as it was called then. Ed was a dear friend and fellow worker who never had a bad word to say about anything. After I retired in 1999, I always looked forward to seeing Ed and Jan at our retirement dinners. We shared many wonderful memories which I will always cherish.

All the people that knew ED respected him as a leader, friend, confidant,and a dedicated family man. I knew ED at Sears, at parties, on business trips, during coffee meetings, on the commuter train to LaGrange, and on and on.

He was always sincere, funny, honest, helpful, a true friend. I will miss him !

I as many of the above people worked with Ed at Sears. Ed was a Giant of a Man that always thought long and hard prior to allowing the words to pass over his lips. He never knowingly allowed words of malice, that would hurt,or disrespect another person.
