Messages of Condolence

  1. Tom Sutula condolence:

Janice & Family — so sorry to hear about Ed’s passing. I worked with him years ago (70’s & 80’s) when I was with Sears in Chicago.

He was a great guy – very intelligent with a very dry sense of humor. I used to love to rag him about his office. Don’t know how he ever found anything. But he did a great job and was a fine gentleman.

I can hear the Good Lord telling him that he can’t have a bunch of papers on his desk in heaven.

God bless Ed and you all.

  2. Kathie Howard condolence:

My condolences to a great man. Praying for the family’s strength in the loss of a really nice man.

    Blessings

  3. Jerry and Bob Fuzak condolence:

    Dear Veome Children and Families;

Ed and Janice were dear friends for nearly 50 years. Our association, both personally and professionally, will always be remembered. We spent many times together, shared stories about our children, and just generally had a great time whatever the occasion. Ed and I built furniture and Grandmother clocks during evening hours after work when we visited Vermont American. Our clock is still running, and I trust that his is as well. Lots of great memories, and nothing but the highest respect for a warm, hard working, gentle, dedicated family man. We will miss him….but know he is at Peace and finally where he wanted to be: with the Lord and back with Janice at long last.

With Love and Prayers to you all in your time of sadness, but Joyful in the knowledge that he is at Rest.

    Jerry and Bob Fuzak

I met Ed back in 1967 when he came from the Western Ave. Sears store to HQ or Parent as it was called then. Ed was a dear friend and fellow worker who never had a bad word to say about anything. 11. John & Carol Hojnar condolence:

    Eddie:

Things aren’t supposed to end this way. Instead, we’re supposed to live a very long, long time and be happy forever. We really wanted to talk with you a little longer, laugh a little more together and hear you tell more funny stories.

You did though live life the right way … a damn good husband, father, grandfather and special friend to all who knew you.

So here’s to fifty pound lobsters and plenty of happy fishing days. Now all we have to do is find a way to fill an big empty place in our hearts.

May God bless and keep you.
    Love, John and Carol.

  12. Dick Dykowski condolence:

    To Ed’s Family,
I was a relative newcomer to the 609 fraternity, so I hadn’t known Ed as long as others. For the few years I did, which were years of reorganization within the company, he handled the uncertainty of a future with his typical positive outlook–never a negative to say. A tremendous “salt of the earth” man who will be sorely missed. My condolences to all,

    Dick Dykowski

  13. Bill Covino condolence:

So sorry to hear about your loss, my thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

    Love, Bill Covino

  14. Dan Skowron condolence:

I had the pleasure of working with Ed in D/609. As dedicated as he was to his job, it was never ALL business with Ed. He would always take the time to talk, listen, and lend his wisdom where needed.

My sincere sympathies to the Veome family on their loss. May God bless you all and grant you His peace.

  15. Carol Veome condolence:

It is so great to be able to say that my “big brother” was the best. He was loyal and loving and always put family first. We were blessed to have him in our lives and he will always be remembered and missed in so many ways.

    Dear Janice, Geno and Family,

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

    Love,
    Rena

  17. Bob and Carol Dewire condolence:

I as many of the above people worked with Ed at Sears. Ed was a Giant of a Man that always thought long and hard prior to allowing the words to pass over his lips. He never knowingly allowed words of malice, that would hurt,or disrespect another person. People always liked Ed and had nothing but respect for his knowledge and approach to business and his personal life. A GOOD MAN, seems to best describe his days with us. Everyone’s loss!
    Robert J. Dewire

  18. Carol Miller condolence:

Please accept my condolence on the passing of Ed. It was my pleasure to work with Ed as his assistant buyer in the early 1990s. Ed was a professional in the business, always the ‘gentle’man, full of understanding and wisdom. Many of us were blessed to know him and we thank God for letting Ed Veome pass through Sears.
May our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, keep you and yours in His perfect peace. Carol Miller, formerly Carol Martin

    To all our Veome cousins,
Wonderful parents make wonderful families and the Veomes are the best. While your leader is gone in body, the warmth of his character and kindness of his heart remain. That hurts now, but he will always be with you. He and your mom created a legacy that never will be broken. Pam and I love you all.
    “Butch”

  24. Deonna Fritz condolence:

    To the Veome family,
I worked at Waterloo Industries and had the privilege to get to know Ed when he was our buyer. I was a young, new kid on the block and he taught me many things about the hardware business. More importantly, he always treated me with respect and kindness. He loved his family…it showed every day. I am blessed to have known him. Peace to you all.

  25. Joanne Rutty condolence:

    To the Veome family,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of cousin Ed, a wonderful man who will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  26. April Bonnet (Vuillaume) condolence:

To each of you, I offer my condolences. It is very hard to lose a parent and particularly your last living parent. Now, your parents are together again in heaven. There love and faith was deep as is evident by the family (of you) that they raised. What a legacy and tribute!
Please know that “little Eddie” was always a fun-loving cousin. Always had a smile on his face and a chuckle in his talk! He will be missed.

    Deepest sympathy, April (cousin)
