My heart breaks for Brian’s mother. He was such a nice young man….and we enjoyed getting to know him during Alex and Katie’s wedding planning and festivities. I am so sorry!!! I know he is at peace now; and I sincerely hope the memories of him get you through the saddest of days. xo Mary Ruberry

Condolence from Katie Stilts on February 19th, 2012 4:11 pm

Belle, words cannot describe the love we feel for you and Brian. Our deepest sympathy is with you, Jerry, and your loved ones. You and Brian have been family to us for many years. I remember almost 10 years ago Alex introduced Brian to me as “my best friend in the world and my favorite drummer of all times”. Brian laughed and argued that Alex was exaggerating – always so modest. It took knowing him a short time to realize both were true. Brian will forever be one of my favorite people – so much passion, talent, love, and goodness in his heart… just like his mother. You raised a beautiful soul that will be with us always. We love you so much.

Condolence from Alex Stilts on February 19th, 2012 5:38 pm

Belle, you and Brian have always treated me like family. I love you both and I think of you both as family. There is no way I can truly describe what Brian means to me – my best man, my best friend, my brother. Words seem clumsy and hollow when trying to describe a feeling, an unspoken bond of friendship between people. I mean the kind of friendship that you never have to question, not even through the worst of arguments or the darkest of days. Whatever you are going through whether together or individually, somehow you just know that bond is always there, and never in question. Some people go their whole lives without ever truly knowing what that kind of friendship means. I have been fortunate enough in my life to know what that means, because I was lucky enough to call Brian Jakubosky my friend.
With all my heart and all my love,
Alex Stilts

Condolence from Brendan Curtin on February 20th, 2012 8:30 am

My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Brian’s friends and family. I will forever remember Brian as a loyal and caring friend. I will also always remember fondly the experiences he and I had playing on various sports teams, hanging out all over the ‘Hollywood’ neighborhood together while growing up as well as the numerous walks home from school together. To the Jakubosky family, please accept my sincerest condolences and know that I will continue to keep your family in my thoughts in prayers.

With Deepest Sympathies,
Brendan Curtin

Dear Mother of Brian,
I am so sorry for your loss. So young, with most of his life ahead.
We may ask why? We may even wonder if there is anything we can look forward too.
I wish to share with you the source of true comfort which can be found in the Bible’s resurrection accounts. Reading such accounts, meditating on them, and visualizing the events can make the resurrection hope more real to you. (Romans 15:4) These are not just stories. They actually happened to real people like us, living at a real time and in a real place. Please read in your Bible First Kings 17:8-24.Luke 7:11-15; Luke 8:49:56
By means of Jesus ransom sacrifice, those of our dear loved ones who have fallen asleep in death, will , in the near future, benefit from the resurrection.[John 5:28.29]
May Jehovah God be with you
Sincerely Dianne Mullins

Condolence from Monica (Brian’s Cousin) on February 21st, 2012 1:00 pm

Where do I begin…Brian was a wonderful, loving, caring person. He was so talented, everyone will say he was a great drummer which he was and that was his true passion. He could tile a floor or a bathroom and make it look amazing. He was so funny he could imitate any voice, he would always do Billy Bob Thornton from Sling Blade absolutely hilarious. I will miss his laugh he had one of those belly laughs. I will miss him at my parents house (Aunt Retta and Uncle Joe) for all of the holidays telling us jokes and doing imitations. I will miss hearing him getting heated talking about the Nascar race with my Dad,or getting excited if his guy Mark Martin won. I could go on forever writing about Brian. I will miss him and things won’t ever be the same but I made sure that every time I talked to him or saw him that I told him that I loved him. To my Aunt Belle, my Aunt, my friend my Angel I love you more everyday and I know you will still be with us on the holidays, cause thats where Brian will be in spirit is at his Aunt Retta and Uncle Joe’s house. May God wrap his arms around you and give you the strenght.
Forever In My Heart
Love
Monica

Condolence from Greg Golden on February 21st, 2012 2:11 pm

Brian, you are forever my soul brother. You touched my life in a very deep and spiritual way. I owe you so much not only for what you taught me about music and rhythm and how you absolutely transformed and elevated any music that we played together but even more so because you always had my back no matter what. You pushed me both as a musician and a person and i honestly feel like a better person for having had the honor of knowing you. You have a truly gentle and yet tortured soul that was the fuel for all of your creations by using your gift to take whatever life handed you and turn it into something beautiful. To call you an amazing drummer would be an understatement for your musical ear and talents went beyond the drums with all of the other songs you wrote and co-wrote. I miss you more than these simple words could hope to express.
Belle- I can only imagine how you feel right now but know that all of us love you. I feel like I have a huge weight in my chest. Your son touched many people and his spirit lives on in all of our hearts
My deepest condolences
Love
Greg

Condolence from David Hajek on April 24th, 2013 1:42 pm

Over the years we had grown up and grown further apart, I had tried to find and once again talk to my good friend Brian. Today, something made me think of him and I again tried to locate him and saw this obituary. I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Brian whom I was very close to in our college years. As so many others have stated, Brian was a great friend, was always there for you and pushed you to be better. I remember barely making the volleyball team with him in college and we worked DAILY to get better and better and I owe that mentality to never stop trying from Brian. We bowled in leagues together for a few years and it was the same thing. We would bowl on non league nights sometimes until 2am just to improve. His abilities as a drummer were not just fantastic to listen to, his knowledge of music was endless and in general led to hours and hours of conversation and clearly were a big part of how I now listen to music. Belle- my deepest sympathies go out to you. Your son was always there for me and I know you were always there for him. I am so very saddened to hear of the loss of my long time friend. You will be missed. God Bless. Love, Dave Hajek
